POWDER WAFER DISH

This dish is made in three stages. The first step is to make wafers of powdered glass. These are made directly onto the kiln shelf using using powdered glass. Great care needs to be taken when choosing the colours to create balance between them, as well as to prevent unwanted reactions occurring between the powders. After firing these wafers are then cleaned and applied to the surface of a piece of light coloured sheet glass. This is then fired and slumped to finish the dish.
