STRIP CUT DISH

This dish is made by carefully cutting strips of glass from a single sheet, and then arranging them on the kiln shelf. It is an exercise in both careful cutting and accurate measurements.

The blue woven effect is done using cane pulled from a vitrigraph kiln which is always unique due to the nature of this method.

Once arranged on the kiln shelf, the work is then fired. After firing it is cold worked to remove any imperfections, and then slumped into a shallow dish.
